The Yamdrok Lake day tour covers a total of 240km beautiful Tibetan landscape during the round trip. The entire trip will take 8-10 hours depending on traffic. You will spend most of the journey in the car, but also enjoy plenty of leisure time by the lakeside . You can take pictures, hike around, or simply relax by the water and take in the stunning views. What you can expect
We will leave Lhasa in the morning around 9am. Our local Tibetan English tour guide and driver will pick you up from Lhasa Ganggyan Hotel parking lot on Beijing East Road in the historic center. If you have a special request for meetup location we can happily accommodate that as well.
On your way to Yamdrok Lake, you will enjoy the landscape of the grand Tibetan Plateau and see the living habitat of rural Tibetans. We arrive at Yamdrok Lake before noon. Once there, you can either take a stroll by the lake, climb up to Gambala Pass, enjoy lunch in front of the great view, or ride yaks. You can spend the leisure time any way you want. We will start heading back in the afternoon and arrive at Lhasa around 4-5 pm.
