1 Day Tibetan Farmer’s Village Charity Tour
This philanthropic Tibetan Country (village) tour is served by Tibetan home from Dadong village, 18 km way from the center of Lhasa city. It locates in a hidden village of southwest Lhasa. As one of the most well preserved ancient Tibetan village, there are deep valleys, old trails, gurgling spring, and verdant greenery with nearly two thousand years of history, Nyimatang Monastery and the mysterious Pharmacist Hall. What’s more, the old warehouse which the 6th Dalai Lama,Tsangyang Gyatso had lived in coupled with the original local Tibetan house, simple folk customs and the ancient legend made the village exuding a unique charm to travelers.
Dadong village situates in a valley which created a ‘micro climate’ of Dadong village and gave it the title ‘sunshine valley’. Therefore people said that even the master of Tibetan Buddhism, guru Rinpoche had ‘coveted’ the beauty of Dadong village. The rape here bloom in the early summer due to its ‘micro climate’. Afterwards the golden rape flower bloom in the surrounded valley which make the village warm and quiet with romantic atmosphere.
Meanwhile, travelers can see blue skies, white clouds and green grassland and sheep everywhere in the village.

What you can expect
- In the morning, we will visit Drepung Monastery. It is called Drepung Gompa in Tibetan, and was founded at the foot of Mount Gambo Utse “Gephel” in 1416. It is on the outskirts of west Lhasa city and it was Tibet's largest and most influential monastery housing 10,000 monks in history. Drepung Monastery is one of the largest "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet with the other two called Ganden and Sera Monastery behind. But today, Drepung Monastery houses about 700 monks and attracts thousands of pilgrims and visitors from around the world. Drepung is the largest of all Tibetan monasteries and is located on the Gambo Utse.
- Tibetan Home Visit to Deji's family at Dadong Village after Drepung Monastery. Have Tibetan traditional lunch there, meet local villagers, and visit local authentic Tibetan monastery Nyimathang Monastery.
- You have the opportunity to donate goods such as shoes, clothing, kid's stationery or some money (not compulsory) to local villagers. In the summer time, you could have a picnic near their home. Walk to their fields and see their animals. You can also have chances to do some fields work with local Tibetan people.
